Ben Nott (UK)
Ben Nott began his Dj career in Indianapolis, USA in the late 90s after one of Chicago’s forefront Djs (Slater Hogan) gave him access to his records and sold him some SL1200 decks, he was immediately bitten by the house/ techno bug and wanted more!
6 months passed and Ben was playing parties, then within 12 months he was hosting his own Xanadu events, 2 years later those events swelled into 5,000 people warehouse raves and Ben was also playing most weekends around the country, an amazing start but then due to some family issues Ben had to move back to the Uk 5 years later..
Not one to rest, a new brand was created named Ultra+ this was then held at one of the Uks premier venues, the Custard Factory in Birmingham!
Ultra+ was monthly at the venue for 6 years, Ben played to 800-1500 capacity crowds next to Steve Lawler, Hernan Catteneo, M.A.N.D.Y, Heidi, Trentemoller, Danny Howells and Sander klienenberg to name a few which really developed his skill to play various styles and to have a good understanding of what works on the dance floor, more bookings came which then led him to join Fergies Excentric agency, gigs came at clubs such as Sankeys, Ministry, Circus, Honey Club, Yalta-Bulgaria, Roskilda festival, Amsterdam dance parade and many more, but then times changed and ben was feeling the need for more progression and new scenery he had always wanted to live in Australia, so in Oct 2013 the big move was made.
Since residing in Sydney- Australia, Ben has quickly delved into the local scene and has played some of the best spots; S.A.S.H @ Home, Burdekin, Spice, Abercorombie (now sadly closed) Imperial, Maitreya Festival, Strawberry Fields festival, Return to rio festival, Subsonic, and for many promoters in other spaces, again the promoter side came calling and Blueprint events was created, throwing quality house-techno music events in and around the Sydney area in clubs, warehouse and at outdoor sites featuring local and international DJs on the best sound- FUNKTION ONE!
